How to use your Crystal Pendulum

Now that you have chosen your pendulum, it is time to put it to use.

Center yourself. Sit or stand in a grounded and comfortable way. You want your body to be as stable as possible, so avoid crossing your legs or settling on an unstable surface. When you feel comfortable, take deep, cleansing breaths. You may close your eyes during these breaths if it feels right. Clear your personal energy, letting go of anything that is cluttering your mind, besides the questions you will be asking your pendulum.

Clear crystals of heavy energy. There are many ways to cleanse your pendulum, but the easiest way to clear it before each use is to simply envision it engulfed in a bright, white, cleansing light while holding it. This will ensure you have a clean slate of energy that can focus directly on you.

Set mindful and direct intentions. When using your pendulum, it is important to ask clear questions with “yes or no” answers. Take time beforehand to clarify with yourself exactly what you are asking of your pendulum. At this time, you should ask your pendulum to show you how it will communicate its positive and negative reactions with you. You can do this by asking “yes or no” questions that you have a definitive answer to, or by simply saying “please show me ‘yes,’” and “please show me ‘no.’” It will gently swing in a circular motion, back and forth, sideways, or diagonally. Take note of the movement, so you understand its communications as you ask more questions.

Open yourself to communication. The pendulum might give you answers you aren’t expecting, or don’t want to hear. Try not to fight against it, and just listen. Allow yourself to tune into your higher self and remember that you are one with the universe. Your higher self wants nothing but the best for you and will offer the purest guidance.
